WHERE I AM FROM
I am from a place with cats snoring on cupboards,
Ghosts watching a T.V. that is always on,
Clothes lying on the floor without a body inside them,
Hockey gear that makes whomever steps on our property faint,
People banging on the computer, bowing on their knees for it to work.
I am from a place where no grass shall live,
A winding pathway leading to our door,
Leaves flooding the ground,
Trees higher than the Empire State Building.
I am from a place where everybody gets in a car wreck,
Five horns honk before you can take a breath,
Kids playing Hide and go Seek,
People loosing their voices from yelling so much,
Animal hair covering the ground.
I am from a Mom that loves a lot,
A Dad taller than everyone,
A Grandfather that still has hair,
A Grandmother with some teeth,
A pet loving sister.
I am from a family eating green ripe kiwi,
And top class tacos,
Mouthwatering, taste bud sensation salmon,
Cereal as far as the eye can see.
I am from a family that wrapped my childhood in a photo album,
And recorded me on video,
Pushes me to go school everyday.
I live with the slogan that my whole family uses:
“Always love you, always have and always will”
